TRAINING MANUALS ON RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR THE PREPARATORY AND ELEMENTARY STAGES OF EDUCATION IN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES
Abstracts

Introduction. The article justifies the need to choose and develop training manuals on Russian as a foreign language (RCI) for the preparatory and initial stages of study in Russian universities. Its purpose is to give a brief overview of textbooks used in Shadrinsk State Pedagogical University (“SHGPU”) and to describe the forms of work with them at the Faculty of Pre-University Training and at the first year of bachelor’s degree in the field of training 44.03.05 Pedagogical education with two training profiles (“Russian as foreign language”, “English language”).

Materials and methods. The main methods of research are analysis and justification of the need for the development of training manuals on Russian as a foreign language in the conditions of a modern Russian university.

Results. The article provides examples of educational literature for levels A2 and B1 on the scale of “Common European Framework of Reference, CEFR” and the requirements of the State educational standard for Russian as a foreign language, published in the publishing house “Zlatoust”. It pays special attention to training manuals prepared by teachers of the faculty of Humanities of the Shadrinsk State Pedagogical University (“SHGPU”). The authors analyse the content of the textbooks used in their teaching activities, they share their own experience.

Discussion. It is stressed that the performance of the teacher’s activities largely depends on his or her ability and readiness to carry out scientific and methodological work on the comparison of Russian and native languages of students in order to determine problematic points in their learning of the Russian language.

Conclusion. The careful choice and development of effective training manuals on Russian as foreign languages as the participation of foreign students in scientific work are keys to their success in learning of Russian.
